NHL Rumors: Washington Capitals Forward to be Shopped
After winning only two out of their last 10 games, the Washington Capitals have fallen to a 7-10-3 record, and their playoff hopes are not looking too hot. Unless they turn things around quickly, they are destined to be sellers at the deadline. One player to pay attention to in this situation is Conor Sheary.
Sheary carries a very affordable $1.5 million cap hit and would be a third-line forward for playoff teams to consider. Although the Capitals have been bad this season, the 30-year-old winger has had a strong start to the campaign, as he has seven goals and 10 points in 20 games. If he keeps this play up, the Capitals could get a decent return for him at the deadline.
We will have to wait and see if the Capitals can get things back on track, but if not, expect to see Sheary on the move due to his pending UFA status.
