NHL Rumors: Washington Capitals to Shop Winger

The Washington Capitals have been immensely disappointing this season, as they sport a 7-9-3 record. Due to this, they are currently seventh in the Metropolitan Division and are in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time since the 2013-14 season. If they do not turn things around quickly, they will be sellers at the deadline, and Garnet Hathaway will be one of their rental candidates.

Hathaway would surely get interest on the trading market. Although he only has two goals and an assist in 19 games so far this season, his immense physicality (64 hits) and tenacious style of play will lead to interest from contenders.

Alas, it will be interesting to see if the Capitals can turn things around. If not, expect Hathaway to be one of their biggest trading pieces.
