NHL Rumors: Washington Capitals to Trade Forward

The Washington Capitals have been very disappointing this season, as their 10-11-3 record effectively shows. If they are unable to turn things around, they will surely be sellers at the deadline this spring. One player who we are likely to see moved in this scenario is pending UFA Nicolas Aube-Kubel.

Aube-Kubel was claimed off of waivers by the Capitals from the Toronto Maple Leafs earlier this month. Between the two teams, he has appeared in 10 games on the year, where he has zero points and a minus-1 rating. Yet, there could still be interest in him on the free-agent market even with his struggles, as he had 22 points with the Colorado Avalanche last season.

Aube-Kubel's tenacity and solid ability of being an agitator could also lead to him finding a new home, so we will have to wait and see what happens with him from here.
