Ottawa Senators Call Up Goalie

The Ottawa Senators have called up Kevin Mandolese to their NHL roster.

When an AHL netminder is recalled, normally that indicates that a fellow goaltender has been injured. This is exactly the case with this call-up, as Anton Forsberg is dealing with a minor injury, according to Bruce Garrioch. This is certainly not the best news for an already-struggling Senators team.

Mandolese has been called up to Ottawa this season before, but he has yet to make his NHL regular-season debut for the team. In six games this season for their AHL affiliate, the Belleville Senators, he has a 2-3-1 record, 3.47 GAA, and .868 SV%.
