Pittsburgh Penguins Make Roster Move
The Pittsburgh Penguins have sent down Drew O'Connor to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
O'Connor was recently called up to the NHL squad, but after just three games, he is heading right back to the AHL. During his three contests with Pittsburgh, he failed to record a point and sported a minus-1 rating. Although the 24-year-old has been demoted, don't be surprised to see him called up again at some point this season. Keep in mind, he played in 22 games last season with Pittsburgh, where he had three goals and five points.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton will be ecstatic to have O'Connor back, however. He's been one of their top point producers over the last few years and should continue to be from here. In eight games so far with them this season, he has six points.
