Seattle Kraken Send Down Top Prospect to AHL

The Seattle Kraken have sent down 2022 fourth-overall pick Shane Wright to the Coachella Valley

Firebirds on a conditioning loan. He can remain with the AHL squad for a maximum of 14 days.

Wright has not played for the Kraken since Nov. 5, as he has been a healthy scratch for several straight games. Therefore, instead of having him receive zero game action, the 18-year-old center will now be playing in the AHL for the time being.

Overall, this is a good short-term fix for Wright's lack of playing time, but the Kraken will need to decide if they are going to send him back to junior once this conditioning stint ends. Until then, we will have to wait and see how he performs against AHL talent.

In seven games this season with Seattle, Wright has one assist and a plus-4 rating.
