Toronto Maple Leafs Defenseman to Miss Time
The Toronto Maple Leafs will be without another one of their defensemen, as Jordie Benn has been placed on injured reserve and will be out week to week.
Benn has been doing a good job filling in for defensive mainstays Jake Muzzin, T.J. Brodie, and Morgan Rielly, so it is very unfortunate that he now has to miss time himself. In six games on the year thus far, the 35-year-old has a goal and an assist to go along with 18 hits. Overall, he has done his job as a depth defenseman, but now the Leafs will need other players to fill in for him.
At this juncture, a definite timeline has not been established for Benn, so we will have to wait for an update on that front. Alas, here's to hoping that he does not have to miss too much time from here.
