Toronto Maple Leafs Goalie Set to Return
The Toronto Maple Leafs are getting a big boost, as Ilya Samsonov has been activated off of injured reserve.
Samsonov has not played a game since Nov. 5 against the Boston Bruins, but now that is finally set to change. This is certainly great news for the Leafs, as this is also the first time since the beginning of the season that Samsonov and Matt Murray are both healthy. Yet, even with their injury trouble in goal, the Leafs sport a strong 14-5-5 record.
Before his injury, Samsonov was lights out, and the truth is in his statistics. In eight appearances, he has a 6-2-0 record, 2.23 GAA, and .921 SV%. Let's see if he can keep this play up from here.
