Toronto Maple Leafs Make Changes to Roster
Wayne Simmonds is back with the Toronto Maple Leafs, as he has been called up to the NHL roster. Meanwhile, Filip Kral is heading back to the Toronto Marlies due to the return of Timothy Liljegren.
Simmonds was recently sent down to the AHL, but now he is heading right back to the Leafs. The 34-year-old will serve as a bottom-six option for Toronto as they aim to get things back on track. The 1,022-game veteran has an assist in three contests this season.
Due to the injuries on Toronto's blueline, Kral was given his first real shot at the NHL level. In two games during his call-up, he failed to get a point and had an even rating. Don't be surprised to see Kral get another chance at the NHL level this season, as it appears that he has risen up the Maple Leafs' depth chart as an extra d-man.
