Vancouver Canucks Forward Placed on IR
The Vancouver Canucks have placed recently-acquired forward Jack Studnicka on injured reserve.
This is such a tough break for Studnicka, as the 23-year-old has been aiming to cement himself a permanent spot with his new team. So far, the Windsor native has appeared in seven games as a Canuck, where he has a goal and an assist. Now, instead of continuing to make his case for a bottom-six spot, he has to miss the next week of action at a minimum.
In response to Studnicka's IR placement, the Canucks have called up William Lockwood to their NHL roster. The 24-year-old forward has made appearances at the NHL level in each of the last two seasons, playing in 15 total games. During them, he failed to record a point and sported a minus-5 rating. Let's see if he can make a bigger impact during this call-up. In 10 AHL games this season, he has five goals and two assists.
