Vancouver Canucks Make Roster Moves
The Vancouver Canucks have sent down Vasily Podkolzin and Jack Rathbone to the American Hockey League (AHL).
Podkolzin has been having a rough season so far, as he has just three assists to go along with a minus-2 rating in 16 games. Due to his struggles it makes sense that the Canucks are sending down the 2019 first-round pick. They will be hoping that he can get his confidence back in the AHL, as it will open the door to him getting called back up. In 79 games last season with Vancouver, he had 26 points.
Rathbone, on the other hand, has spent time in both the NHL and AHL this season. The 23-year-old defenseman is viewed as one of Vancouver's top prospects, so this demotion may disappoint some of their fans. In six games with Vancouver this season, he has one assist.
