Video: Capitals Forward Suspended 3 Games for Brutal Hit-to-Head
The Washington Capitals have had forward Nicolas Aube-Kubel in the lineup for less than a week and now he's unavailable to play as the pesky forward has been suspended for three games.
NAK delivered a very dirty hit-to-head on Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Cal Foote, which turned the Caps/Lightning game into a blood bath as two line brawls eventually took place.
Many people around the league have chimed in, calling this hit the exact definition of a blindside headshot. The two teams face off again on Sunday and expect the Lightning to come out flying, looking for some revenge for Foote who is likely going to miss the game with an upper-body injury.
This is the first time Aube-Kubel has been suspended by the NHL. He has however been fined twice, one for roughing and the other for kneeing. He plays on the line, and this time he crossed it.
