Anaheim Ducks Claim Forward Off Waivers

The Colorado Avalanche placed two forwards on waivers on Monday (Dec 5). Although Alex Galchenyuk cleared, the same can't be said about Jayson Megna. This is because the latter has been claimed by the Anaheim Ducks.

This waiver claim may come as a surprise to some, as the Florida native had zero points in 14 games with the Avalanche this season. Yet, with the Ducks being at the bottom of the NHL standings, it makes sense that they are taking a chance on a player like Megna. He should compete for a spot in their bottom six from here.

Overall, there's no harm in the Ducks taking a flier on Megna, and it will be intriguing to see how he does in Anaheim from here.
