Boston Bruins to Terminate Defenseman's Contract
The Boston Bruins have placed Victor Berglund on unconditional waivers. This indicates that a contract termination is on the way.
Berglund was drafted by the Bruins with the 195th overall selection of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. Since then, he has had trouble cementing himself a permanent spot on the Providence Bruins and has yet to play to in an NHL game. Now, with a contract termination occurring, the 23-year-old defenseman will be testing his luck elsewhere.
It does not seem out of the realm of possibility that Berglund will head back home to Sweden. With the 6-foot-1 defenseman still young, his chances of being an NHL player later down the road could still be there, but it will not be happening in Boston.
In five games this season with Providence, Berglund had one assist and a minus-5 rating.
