Calgary Flames Make Roster Moves

The Calgary Flames have placed Chris Tanev on injured reserve. Along with this, Dennis Gilbert has been called back up to the NHL roster.

Tanev's IR placement is retroactive to Dec. 12, so the earliest he could return to action is Tuesday's game against the San Jose Sharks. The Flames will certainly be hoping that the veteran defenseman can get back into action, as he is a notable part of their group. In 24 games so far this season, the shutdown defenseman has five assists and a minus-1 rating.

Gilbert, on the other hand, has split this between the NHL and AHL. This is pretty much the standard for a depth defenseman, but now he is getting another shot with the Flames. In eight games with the Flames thus far, he has an assist and a minus-1 rating.
