Detroit Red Wings Call Up Goalie

The Detroit Red Wings have called up Magnus Hellberg from his conditioning stint with the Grand Rapids Griffins.

With this roster move, the Red Wings now sport three goaltenders on their roster. This is noteworthy, as Alex Nedeljkovic has struggled mightily this season. As a result, perhaps this Hellberg promotion is a way to try to motivate Nedeljkovic. If he continues to struggle, perhaps it could lead to the pending UFA being dealt later in the season. 

Hellberg played in one NHL game this season with the Ottawa Senators, where he made 29 saves in 31 shots. Let's see if he gets the chance to get into some games for Detroit from here.
