Detroit Red Wings Forward Placed on IR
Tyler Bertuzzi is once again out for the Detroit Red Wings, as he has been placed on injured reserve. As a result, he will not be able to return to game action for at least a week.
Bertuzzi just returned to action less than a month ago after missing a month. Now, he is heading right back to IR, and it is rough to hear for the 27-year-old.
While healthy, Bertuzzi has not been the biggest factor thus far, as he has just four points in nine games played. Given the fact that he just had a 62-point campaign in 68 games last season, this pace of production is low for his standards. However, injury trouble can be blamed for that. Here's to hoping that the pending UFA has a speedy recovery from here and heats up once he comes back into the lineup.
In response to this injury, Austin Czarnik has been called back up to the Red Wings.
