Detroit Red Wings Rookie Activated Off Injured Reserve
The Detroit Red Wings have activated Elmer Soderblom off of injured reserve, and the 6-foot-8 rookie has been sent down to the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Soderblom made the Red Wings' NHL roster after impressing during the preseason. So far, the 21-year-old has cooled off after a hot start, as he has two goals and a minus-5 rating in 13 games. Due to this and the youngster missing multiple weeks to injury, it makes sense for him to head to the AHL for the time being.
Yet, as Soderblom gets back into game shape, it would not be surprising to see Detroit call him up to the NHL soon. Until then, let's see how he performs for the Griffins.
