Detroit Red Wings Winger Undergoes Surgery

The Detroit Red Wings have announced that Tyler Bertuzzi had successful surgery and will be out for the next six weeks. 

This is such rough news for Bertuzzi. The 27-year-old had just returned to action not too long after missing a month, and now he is set to miss a significant amount of time again. His injury trouble has resulted in him having a bit of a slow start this season as well, as he has just four points in nine contests.

With the Red Wings being currently in the playoff race, losing a key forward like Bertuzzi again is certainly not ideal. Here's to hoping that the 6-foot-1 pending UFA has a speedy recovery and heats up once he is fully healthy.
