Former New York Islanders Forward Signs Overseas
After having his contract terminated by the New York Islanders, Nikita Soshnikov has signed with HC Traktor of the KHL. The contract will take him through the 2023-24 season.
A return to the KHL was rather predictable for Soshnikov, and now it has officially come to fruition.
Given the fact that this is a multi-year deal, it seems possible that the 29-year-old may have played his final game in the NHL.
Soshnikov appeared in three games for the Islanders this season, where he had zero points to go along with a minus-2 rating. In four games with the Bridgeport Islanders, he had one assist.
