Maple Leafs Lose Another Defenseman
The Toronto Maple Leafs can't keep defensemen healthy as Victor Mete is the latest Leafs blueliner to go down with injury.
The shifty defender left Tuesday's game against the Dallas Stars with a lower-body injury and is expected to miss at least one week. While head coach Sheldon Keefe confirmed Mete would miss at least the rest of this week, it doesn't appear to be very serious.
Sheldon Keefe says Victor Mete will be unavailable for rest of the week. They don’t think the injury is serious, though.

But “he will miss some time.” @BodogCA @RinkWideTOR
The team is already without Morgan Rielly, TJ Brodie, Jake Muzzin and Jordie Benn and now may have to turn back to Mac Hollowell for Thursday's contest against the LA Kings. Against the Stars, the Maple Leafs played Mete with newcomer Connor Timmins.
Timmins debut in a Leafs jersey was quite the experience for the Thorold, ON native who cheered for the franchise as a kid. While he made a couple of nice passes and looked good at times, Timmins kept falling as he couldn't keep his edge sharp on his one skate.
Expect to see the Leafs make a couple of roster moves on Wednesday as they prepare to host the Kings Thursday night.
