Montreal Canadiens Call Up Top Prospect

The Montreal Canadiens have called up Justin Barron from the Laval Rocket.

Barron is one of the Canadiens' most notable prospects, so all eyes will be on him during this call-up. The 21-year-old defenseman has played well for Laval this season, as he has seven goals and 16 points in 25 games thus far. Now, he will be aiming to translate some of that offense to the NHL level.

With David Savard and Mike Matheson currently sidelined, this is a good chance for Barron to show the Canadiens that he is ready for NHL action. Alas, let's see if he can do just that from here.
