New York Rangers Make Shocking Scratch

According to Larry Brooks, the New York Rangers are officially scratching Alexis Lafreniere for their contest against the Tampa Bay Lightning. 

With Lafreniere being a former first-overall pick, this decision is certainly going to cause debate among hockey fans. Yet, no matter which side of the argument you fall on, Lafreniere is in fact going to be a healthy scratch.

Lafreniere's current pace of production is the best of his young NHL career (17 points in 36 games), but that wasn't enough for him to avoid being scratched. Let's see how the 21-year-old responds to this decision once he gets reinserted into the lineup.
