NHL Rumors: Bruins & Blackhawks Discussed Big Trade
The Boston Bruins are likely going to make a splash before the March 3 trade deadline. While a ton of speculation was brewing the past several weeks regarding Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane, it turns out their interest may lie with Kane's long-time teammate Jonathan Toews.
The Bruins and Colorado are amongst the teams who’ve inquired about Jonathan Toews. I’m a noted Patrick Kane guy, but acquiring Toews gives this group way more depth for potential bottom-nine matchups through center. Toews, pending UFA, has a full-NMC at $10.5m salary. #NHLBruins https://t.co/qRXoWNak8x

Toews full no-movement clause is the end all here as the veteran center controls his own destiny. The Bruins haven't been one of the early teams linked to his services, however considering their chances of winning a Stanley Cup, there's likely some mutual interest there.
So far this season, the 34-year-old pending free agent has appeared in 25 games, recording 14 points. It appears his somewhat recent health scares are behind him and he's back to playing the Toews style of hockey we are all used to. Seeing him in a Bruins jersey? That would take some time to get used to.

Jacob Trouba lays a big hit on Andreas Athanasiou, and Jonathan Toews immediately comes to his teammate's defense.
