NHL Rumors: Oilers Contemplating Tough Decision with Jack Campbell
When goaltender Jack Campbell signed with the Edmonton Oilers last summer, it was supposed to be a match made in heaven. Unfortunately, it's been anything but this season.
Campbell has struggled in 2022-23, and hasn't been able to find consistent production, much like we saw last season as a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs. So far in his first 13 appearances with the Oilers, Campbell has a 7-6-0 record with a dismal 4.12 GAA and .872 Sv.%. Needless to say, not good enough and Edmonton's management group is now pondering where to go from here.
Projected backup now turned starter Stuart Skinner has also appeared in 13 games this season for the Oil and is outplaying Campbell with his 2.91 GAA and .914 Sv.%.
So where to go from here? Sounds like an AHL demotion could be on the table...
Would sending Jack Campbell to the AHL benefit the Edmonton Oilers?!
