NHL Rumors: Oilers & Ducks Emerging as Trade Partners
The Edmonton Oilers and Anaheim Ducks have been linked to a trade this season and the rumors got even crazier after both general managers were spotted meeting together before the two team's faced off in a recent matchup.
Both Pat Verbeek and Ken Holland are expected to be busy before the March 3 trade deadline, however the two teams are headed in opposite directions. The Oilers are trying to fit in some pieces to get them into Stanley Cup contention, meanwhile the Ducks have several pieces who are expected to be traded as they will make their way into the NHL Draft Lottery conversation.

Speaking of conversations, there's rumors about what exactly was discussed between Verbeek and Holland and it was likely they discussed Oilers disgruntled forward Jesse Puljujarvi. The Oilers are trying to move their once top prospect and the Ducks would be a great spot for Puljujarvi to hit reset on his career with much less pressure.
Edmonton is in the market for defenseman and have interest in John Klingberg. They would need to include more in the deal than just Puljujarvi, however expect talks to continue between the two clubs and there could very well be a deal to be made between the two GMs.
Klingberg has recorded 10 points in 24 games this season in Anaheim, meanwhile Puljujarvi has collected one goal and six points in 31 games with Edmonton.
