NHL Rumors: Rangers & Sabres Becoming Trading Candidates
The New York Rangers are off to a pretty disappointing start for their standards in 2022-23, as they have an 11-9-4 record. Although they have not been bad, they have been performing below their initial expectations. One area that they certainly could improve is their backup goaltender, so perhaps they should consider doing business with the Buffalo Sabres and make a push for Craig Anderson.
Although the Sabres have fallen in the standings dramatically, Anderson has been a very solid goaltender all season. Even at 41 years old, he is proving that he can still be an effective goalie, and the truth is in his stats. In 10 games on the year, he sports a 5-4-0 record, 2.87 GAA, and .916 SV%. This is the kind of goalie that the Rangers would love to have as their backup, as he would be a notable upgrade over the struggling Jaroslav Halak.
We will have to wait and see if the Rangers decide to make a push for Anderson from here.
