NHL Rumors: St. Louis Blues Forward Becoming Trade Candidate
With their 6-4 loss to the New York Rangers on Monday, the St. Louis Blues dropped to an 11-14-0 record. This is quite concerning for a team that was were expected to be contenders in 2022-23. If they are unable to turn things around quickly, they will have no choice but to be sellers at the deadline. In this scenario, one pending UFA who will likely be moved is Josh Leivo.
Leivo has quietly had a decent season for the Blues in a bottom-six role, as he has six assists in 15 games. Although those aren't jaw-dropping totals, it is apparent that he can provide decent secondary scoring when called upon. As a result, it is likely that a contender would be interested in acquiring him as a depth piece for their playoff run.
Leivo carries an easily affordable $750,000 cap hit for the season as well. It will be intriguing to see where the Innisfil native ends up from here.
