NHL Rumors: Vancouver Canucks to Shop Defenseman
The Vancouver Canucks currently have a 9-11-3 record and will end up being sellers if they do not turn things around quickly. If they remain near the bottom half of the Pacific Division as the year progresses, one player who we likely will see traded before the deadline passes is Kyle Burroughs.
Burroughs is a pending UFA who could get some interest around the league at the deadline as a rental. The 27-year-old carries a very affordable $750,000 cap hit and could be a decent addition for a contender looking to add to their defensive depth for the postseason.
Burroughs' immensely physical style of play also could lead to interest in his services. Teams are always looking for a bit of grit, and it's clear that the Vancouver native provides just that. In 14 games this season, the 6-foot defenseman has two goals, 21 penalty minutes, and 47 hits.
