Ottawa Senators Call Up Defenseman

The Ottawa Senators have called Nikita Zaitsev back up to their NHL roster.

Zaitsev was placed on waivers earlier this season and has been in the AHL since clearing them. In three games with the Belleville Senators, he had zero points and a minus-3 rating, so it is fair to say that he did struggle in his limited AHL appearances. Still, he is getting another chance at the NHL roster and will be hoping to stick around from here.

Zaitsev has had some notable struggles with Ottawa this campaign, however, as he has just an assist and a minus-3 rating in seven contests. It will be intriguing to see if the 31-year-old can turn things back around. If not, expect to see him go back to the AHL soon.
