Philadelphia Flyers Forward Placed Back On IR

The Philadelphia Flyers have placed Cam Atkinson back on injured reserve.

This IR placement could indicate that a setback in Atkinson's recovery has occurred. The 33-year-old suffered an upper-body injury during training camp and has not played this season because of it. However, the Connecticut native was very close to returning, but now it seems that we are going to wait more time for this to occur.

Although the Flyers are once again one of the worst clubs in the NHL, there's no question that they would love to have a veteran like Atkinson back in the lineup. Here's to hoping that this is a short-term stint on IR and nothing major.
