Seattle Kraken Call Up Top Prospect

The Seattle Kraken have called up Shane Wright to their NHL roster. The 2022 fourth-overall pick's conditioning stint has come to an end, and now Seattle is having him return because of it. 

Clearly, Wright impressed enough in the AHL to receive another chance with the Kraken instead of an assignment back to junior. The 18-year-old performed quite well with the Coachella Valley Firebirds, as he scored four goals in five games. Now, he will be hoping to translate that kind of scoring to the NHL level. 

Wright has played in seven games with the Kraken this season, where he has an assist. The Burlington native can play in two more games before Seattle will have to decide whether or not he is heading back to junior. If he plays a 10th game, the first season of his contract will officially begin. Time will tell what happens on that front.
