Toronto Maple Leafs Terminate Defenseman's Contract
The Toronto Maple Leafs have made some room on their organizational roster as the team has placed defenseman Axel Rindell on unconditional waivers for the purpose of contract termination.
It sounds like there was a mutual understanding between the #leafs and Axel Rindell.

This will allow the 22-year-old defenceman to pursue other options, while opening up a contract slot for the team (they had been carrying the maximum 50).
Rindell was 2020 draft pick by the Maple Leafs, 177th overall. The 22-year-old six-foot defenseman had joined the Leafs organization in North America for the first time this season as he's spent time between the ECHL's Newfoundland Growlers and AHL's Toronto Marlies.
Rindell appeared in six games for the Marlies, and did not register a point, meanwhile the mobile defenseman appeared in five games with the Growlers and recorded two goals and four points.
Losing Rindell now opens up a spot for the Maple Leafs as they held the maximum of 50 NHL contracts throughout their organization. It's expected the Leafs are going to be active on the trade market this season and now have a little bit more flexibility to make a move.
