Vancouver Canucks Make Roster Moves
The Vancouver Canucks have placed Thatcher Demko on injured reserve. By freeing up his roster space, the Canucks were also able to call up Christian Wolanin.
Demko's IR placement is not surprising in the slightest, as the 26-year-old netminder is expected to miss the next six weeks. This is certainly a tough blow for the Canucks, as being without their starter as they aim to get back into the playoff race is a very challenging task.
Wolanin, on the other hand, will be looking to take advantage of the opportunity presented in front of him. The 27-year-old appeared in just nine games last season between the Buffalo Sabres and Los Angeles Kings, where he had one goal and one assist. Let's see if he can make a bigger impact with the Canucks from here.
