Washington Capitals Defenseman Suffers Injury

Although the Washington Capitals got Dmitry Orlov back in the lineup last game, they are once again down another defenseman. This time, Erik Gustafsson is set to miss time with an upper-body injury.

Gustafsson has had a solid start to the year for the Capitals. He currently leads all of their defensemen in assists (10) in 29 games. Overall, that is not bad production from the 30-year-old but especially so when noting that he was expected to be a depth defenseman. Yet, his strong play has allowed him to secure himself a spot in their top six.

Alas, we will have to wait and see how severe Gustafsson's injury is from here. Here's to hoping that he has a speedy recovery.
