Winnipeg Jets Make Roster Moves
The Winnipeg Jets have placed Blake Wheeler on injured reserve. As a result of this, they used his roster spot to call up Arvid Holm from the AHL.
Wheeler's IR placement is not surprising, as it was announced earlier this week that the veteran winger will be out for at least a month. It certainly is rough news for the Jets, however, as Wheeler has been very good for the team. In 29 games thus far, the 6-foot-5 winger has nine goals to go along with 26 points.
Holm, on the other hand, was called up under emergency conditions. This is an indicator that one of Winnipeg's netminders is unable to play, so now Holm is getting the call-up to fill in. In 12 games this season with Manitoba Moose, the 24-year-old sports a 7-3-2 record, 2.55 GAA, and .923 SV%.
