2 Forwards Placed On Waivers
We have two new forwards on waivers today (Jan. 18), as Vinnie Hinostroza (Buffalo Sabres) and Michael McCarron (Nashville Predators) have both hit the wire.
It was recently reported by NHL insider Elliotte Friedman that the Buffalo Sabres were looking to trade Hinostroza to give him the opportunity to find more playing time elsewhere. Yet, it appears that the market for his services may not be too hot right now, so they are risking the chance of losing him for nothing with this waiver placement. In 19 games this season, Hinostroza has eight assists. It seems possible that a team could look to add him, as he just had 25 points in 62 games last season.
McCarron could certainly get some attention on the waiver wire, as he is a big-bodied forward who carries a $750,000 cap hit. Teams looking for more toughness in their bottom six may look to bring him in. In 15 games, he has one goal and one assist this season.
