3 Maple Leafs Prospects Likely 2023 Trade Candidates
The Toronto Maple Leafs will be one of the many buyers this season on the trade market as we creep closer to the March 3 trade deadline. It's obvious the Leafs are going for it this season and general manager Kyle Dubas is likely going to make multiple trades before the deadline to shore up his roster. Expect to see some prospects heading out of Toronto's organization, and these three could be included:
Fraser Minten
If there's a blockbuster move coming from the Maple Leafs, it's likely going to include Minten. He's a pure sniper who is having a great season as a 18-year-old in the WHL. A former second-round pick, Minten is 6-foot-1 and has recorded 19 goals and 36 points in 25 games this season. The Leafs loved his game at the development camp this summer, so they'll only move him should a top-six forward be coming back the other way.

Fraser Minten (#16) has back-to-back hat tricks. The 2nd rounder has really showcased his shooting talent as of late with a 5-game goal streak.

Topi Niemela
Speaking of blockbusters, if the Leafs make one and the other team asks for their best defensive prospect, Niemela is heading out the other way. He's a smooth skater who can move the puck and has a lot of potential to one day run an NHL power play. Niemela's also right handed which is of interest to a number of teams. The 5-foot-11 20-year-old has put up nine points in 32 games this season.
Joseph Woll
The Maple Leafs have Ilya Samsonov and Matt Murray who look like a strong tandem so they could move one of their young netminders in a trade. Joseph Woll still holds some value on the trade market as he's performed well at the AHL level this season after battling injuries early on. Woll is 24 and looking for some NHL minutes to showcase what he can bring to the table. The 6-foot-2 former third-round pick has recorded a .935 SV.% in six games in 2022-23.
