3 Potential Landing Spots for Sharks' Nick Bonino
While there's been a ton of trade speculation heating up around some of the NHL's best players, San Jose Sharks' Nick Bonino is one of the under-the-radar type of targets who could help a playoff's team bottom six. Let's examine a few teams who are in the market for depth up front and could be interested in adding Bonino:
Toronto Maple Leafs
The Leafs are an interesting team to watch as they have a long wish list which includes a top-six winger, a top-four defenseman and fourth line help. Bonino could fit the bill perfectly among Toronto's bottom six and they have the prospect capital to make a deal work here. The 34-year-old has a five-team no-trade clause, however playing for the playoff-bound Leafs is likely something he'd approve.
Pittsburgh Penguins
A team very familiar to Bonino, the Penguins are in the market for some help among their bottom-six and could have some interest. The veteran would help their penalty kill and block shots with his defensive first mindset. Pittsburgh is another team Bonino would be open to.
Dallas Stars
The Stars would love to add to their top-six but may have to settle to adding some depth for their bottom-two lines. The team doesn't have a first-round pick in 2023, and will be better suited to moved out a mid-level prospect for some help up front.
