3 Potential Trade Destinations for Flyers Ivan Provorov
The Philadelphia Flyers are expected to have a fire sale in the coming weeks as we approach the March 3 trade deadline. There's been a ton of speculation brewing that this will include trading defenseman Ivan Provorov. Here's three potential destinations for the mobile defenseman:
Winnipeg Jets
The Jets love to acquire players with term on their contract and they also have head coach Rick Bowness, who has been known as the 'defenseman whisperer' in his career as he's been able to get some big name d-men back on track. Consider Winnipeg the heavy favorites at this point, as the 25-year-old defenseman does not have any trade protection and can be moved at will.
Detroit Red Wings
The Wings would love to add a left-handed defenseman to their core as Provorov brings a ton to the table. This season his production has slipped with 15 points in 42 games, however he's shown in the past he can flirt with 50 points. Detroit has whatever the Flyers are going to want when it comes to trade chips, so it's just a matter of interest from Wings GM Steve Yzerman.
Vancouver Canucks
The Canucks are looking to re-tool on the fly and with Provorov being able to play both sides on defense, he'll certainly appeal to the Canucks. A player like Conor Garland could make some sense here in a move and expect to see these two teams talking trade these next few weeks.
