Arizona Coyotes Sign Defenseman to Extension

The Arizona Coyotes have signed Juuso Valimaki to a one-year, $1 million contract extension.

The Coyotes claimed Valimaki off of waivers from the Calgary Flames right before the start of the 2022-23 season. It was an underwhelming end to an underwhelming tenure with the Flames for the 2017 first-round pick. Yet, the change of scenery has certainly benefitted him, as he is a regular in Arizona's lineup. In 43 games on the year, he has two goals to go along with 12 points.

Nevertheless, it is nice to see that Valimaki has earned himself this solid extension with the Coyotes. Let's see how he responds to it with his play from here.
