Blues Rumors: Insider Links Tarasenko to Eastern Conference Team
The Carolina Hurricanes were dealt brutal injury news this week, as star winger Max Pacioretty tore his Achilles again and will miss the remainder of the season because of it. With the Hurricanes losing such an important piece of their group, rumors are already buzzing over the possibility of them bringing in another top-tier talent at the deadline to replace him. In a recent tweet, NHL insider Kevin Weekes wrote that he wouldn’t be surprised to see the Hurricanes make a push for St. Louis Blues star Vladimir Tarasenko because of it.
Tarasenko is one of the top rental candidates available at this year’s trade deadline. As a result, multiple teams are already being linked to him, and now the Hurricanes are the latest. It is clear that Tarasenko wants a change of scenery, as he requested a trade over a year ago. Yet, now with the Blues’ playoff chances not very high and him being a pending UFA, a move seems inevitable.
We will need to wait and see if the Hurricanes end up bringing in Tarasenko from here. On paper, there appears to be a spectacular match here, but time will tell if it comes to fruition.
