Columbus Blue Jackets Claim Forward Off Waivers
The Columbus Blue Jackets have made a depth move, as they have claimed Lane Pederson off of waivers from the Vancouver Canucks.
When it was announced that Pederson was hitting the waiver wire, it seemed possible that another team would scoop him up. After all, he has shown that he can be a decent depth forward when called upon, and it also doesn't hurt that he has a very cheap cap hit. As a result, it is not surprising in the slightest that a team with serious injury trouble with their forward has decided to bring him in.
Pederson should receive a good amount of playing time for the struggling Blue Jackets, so it will be intriguing to see how he performs for them from here. In 11 games this season with the Canucks, Pederson had a goal and three points.
