Detroit Red Wings Make Roster Move

The Detroit Red Wings have sent Elmer Soderblom down to the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Soderblom is one of the Red Wings' most notable prospects, so this roster move will naturally grab the attention of their fans. The 6-foot-8 winger has had a decent start to his career, as he has five goals and eight points in 21 games. He also recorded three points over his last five games, but even with this being so, Detroit has decided to have the youngster spend some more time in the AHL.

Look for Soderblom to put up some big points in the AHL while down there. If he does, do not be too surprised to see him end up landing a call-up before the end of the year.
