Detroit Red Wings & San Jose Sharks Complete Trade

The San Jose Sharks have traded Jasper Weatherby to the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for Kyle Criscuolo.

Weatherby appeared in 50 games for the Sharks last season, where he had five goals, 11 points, and a minus-14 rating. The 24-year-old seemed to be getting close to earning himself a permanent role in San Jose's lineup, but things changed on that front this season, as he has yet to play in an NHL game in 2022-23. Now, he will be aiming to change that by impressing the Red Wings from here.

Criscuolo also has not played in an NHL game this season. He should provide the San Jose Barracuda with another solid forward, but if he does well, maybe he could sneak his way onto the Sharks' roster before the season is over. In six NHL games last season with Detroit, he had two assists.
