Edmonton Oilers Call Up Defenseman

The Edmonton Oilers have called up Vincent Desharnais to their NHL roster.

This recall is significant news for Desharnais, as it is the first of his career. The 26-year-old defenseman was selected by the Oilers in the seventh round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, so it is apparent that he has had a long journey to get to this point. After completing his four-year collegiate career with Providence College back in 2018-19, Desharnais has split his time between the ECHL and AHL. Yet, now he is getting his shot in the NHL.

At 6-foot-6, 215 pounds, Desharnais will provide the Oilers with more size and toughness. In 13 games this season with the Bakersfield Condors, he has two assists to go along with 19 penalty minutes. Let's see how he performs for Edmonton during this promotion.
