Edmonton Oilers Sign Veteran Winger to Two-Year Deal

The Edmonton Oilers have been busy on Friday as they've announced the signing of right-winger Justin Bailey to a two-year contract.

The veteran Bailey has recorded four goals and six assists in 16 games so far this season, playing in the American Hockey League for the Bakersfield Condors.

The deal is a two-way contract and sees Bailey set to make $750,000 at the NHL level. The 27-year-old joined the club before this season started and has been one of the bright spots among the Oilers' AHL affiliate.

Bailey was originally a second-round pick of the Buffalo Sabres in 2013, 52nd overall. He's appeared in 82 career NHL games and has recorded five goals and four assists. Bailey will be placed on waivers for the purpose of being sent down and should clear and be reassigned to the Condors. Minor move but it's never a bad thing to increase the organizational depth.
