Florida Panthers Goalie Placed on Injured Reserve
The 2022-23 season has been a disaster for the Florida Panthers. They currently are sitting out of a playoff spot, and this is far below their initial expectations. Now, more bad news has been thrown their way, as Spencer Knight has been placed on injured reserve and will be out for the next week at least.
At the time of this writing, Knight's specific injury has not been announced, so we will have to keep our eyes open for an update. Regardless of the ailment, all we know for sure is that the Panthers will in fact be without Knight for the time being, and that certainly is not good news for a Florida team looking to get back into the playoff hunt.
Night has appeared in 19 games for the Panthers the season, where he has a 9-7-3 record to go along with a 3.05 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage. Although he has had a year of mixed results so far this campaign, there’s no question that the Panthers would rather have him healthy than not. Here’s to hoping that he has a speedy recovery from here and that he does not have to miss more than a week.
In response to this IR placement, the Panthers have called up Alex Lyon to their NHL roster.
