Insider Links Coyotes and Kings to Blockbuster Deal
The NHL trade deadline is March 3 and there's going to be number of big moves made before the deadline. The Arizona Coyotes and LA Kings are two teams to watch as the Kings are looking to upgrade their team ahead of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, meanwhile the 'Yotes will be discussing just about anyone on their roster in trades. Recently, the two teams were linked by hockey insider Pierre LeBrun.
LeBrun matched the two teams in a recent piece via The Athletic and had this to say:
My understanding is that the Coyotes have talked to the Kings, on and off, dating back a year regarding Chychrun, and I can’t let go of the idea that it makes so much sense for the Kings, based on how deep they are on the right side of their blue line and how they could really strengthen their top four on the left side with the left-shot Chychrun. He can play both sides, but it’s on the left where the Kings need him.
Chychrun has been lights out since getting healthy this season, recording 22 points in 27 games. He plays in all situations and would be a huge upgrade for the Kings. As far as what could be going back the other way, look for either Brandt Clarke or Jordan Spence to be included in this trade package as the Coyotes are looking for young NHL ready talent for their blue line.
