Erik Karlsson is having a year to remember, as he has 16 goals and a ridiculous 66 points in just 51 games on the year. With the San Jose Sharks rebuilding, they are aiming to take advantage of his heightened trade value and move him. According to Craig Button, the Buffalo Sabres could be a great fit for the star defenseman.

After over a decade of suffering, the Sabres are FINALLY heading in the right direction and are competing for a playoff spot. As a result, we could very well see him them be buyers at the deadline, and bringing in a player like Karlsson would be a major splash. They have the cap space to make it work, and he would provide a much-needed significant boost to their right side.

On paper, a match does appear to be here, but we will need to wait and see if the Sabres end up bringing in Karlsson before the deadline passes from here.
